Policy Notes Objectives
The ALive policy Notes are meant to inform African policy-makers and decision makers in international and financial institutions on the latest developments in key areas important for sustainable livestock development, and provide them with a range of policy options to address the potentials and constraints of the different segments of the livestock sector.
Four key themes for livestock development in Sub Saharan Africa have been identified in the ALive concept note:
- access to land and water, - animal health delivery, - market access, - international standards and food safety.
Two others subjects were added after: - For a relevant integration of Livestock sector in PRSP. This advocacy note aims to accompany the Methodological Guide for Livestock-PRSP Preparation and to convince national decision-makers of the value of drafting a Livestock PRSP (activity of Theme 3). - Smallholder dairy development(to be completed)
